Total adventures this year so far: 5
Solo Black Mountain
8th August 2018
Wildcamp: 72
While the weather was still good I decided to go for a last wild swimming camp for this year before the weather turned. I went out mid week as I was on my annual leave from work.
I didn't want to camp right beside the river as there were too many bugs last time, so I went further up the valley choosing a spot amongst dramatic rock formations.

Black Mountain with almost Everyone
7th July 2018
Wild-camp: 71
Our cousin Abbi had been threatening to visit for a wild-camp for ages and she finally came along. It was also Mia's first ever wild-camp. Abbi had driven for hours to get here and we met close to the parking spot. After the initial hello's because we haven't seen each other for a few years it was off for the relatively short walk to the chosen camp site (short because of Mia). After we arrived Stuart had a message from Louise who had decided she would join us and he went back to meet her. It was a great trip enjoyed by all (except for the horsefly bites) and lets hope there will be many more with Abbi, Louise and Mia, who provided us all with great entertainment.

Black Mountain Solo
29th June 2018
Wild-Camp: 70
Unfortunately Stuart was unable to come on this camp, so untrusting of the British summer I took the opportunity of the good weather alone. Though in Hindsight we have had an amazing summer this year.
I wanted the fine weather so I could go swimming in the place we had found on Wildcamp:69. I'd also decided to pack light, using the Alpkit Cloud cover quilt and just the bivi without the tarp. Apart from the midges it was a brilliant trip.

Black Mountain with Stuart

Wild-Camp:69
I'd bought the Alpkit cloud cover sleeping bag/blanket and decided to go as minimalist as I could by fitting everything into a 30litre pack. The pack weighed 11.2kg including swimming kit, food and a litre of water.
I'd been nagging Stuart to either publish his videos or send me his footage to incorporate it into mine, which he finally did. So from now on the videos will be from both out points of view, unless I go solo.
We went to the waterfall again as it's pretty close to home and a lovely area and still surprises us with stunning locations we haven't visited. Stuart took his SLR and I gave him a few pointers, I was gutted I didn't take mine , so lesson learned.... I don't like going TOO light, camera next time and filters, and, and, and.....

Fan Fawr with Stuart
8th April 2018
Wild-Camp:68
This camp had been a long time coming. real life had got in the way for both of us.
I got out of the habit of filming and even when editing I had to re-learn how to use the software.
As usual we decided to go up Fan Fawr because there were less people. The car parks were full and we were fortunate enough to drive into the Storey Arms car park just as someone was pulling out of a space.
As the title of the video suggests, we just walked up to the cairn on Fan Fawr whilst talking utter nonsense and it carried on from there.
